hummmm..... And the fields you are printing are the same fields as on the
screen? You are using the subfile field names, not the physical file names?

Just for jokes and blokes, comment the loop and then do a hardwired chain,
say 1, and print. Then stick that piece in 3 or times, changing the hard
wired chain to 4, 9, 42, & 143 for instance. See if those few lines print
as you expect. Lets make sure if the problem is in the loop, or somewhere
else?

(It is my experience that sometimes when I can't fix a problem, if I create
a different problem I can solve it, and in that solution I also see what I
missed in the first problem.)

Booth, I checked the value, and when the subfile has 148 records, the
value of rrn_max is 148.

Gimme that nickel! :)

I wonder if the value of Rrn_Max is what he thinks it is. I am betting
(up
to a nickel) that for some reason Rrn_Max is 1 or 0.

What he means I think is that you need to use the ACTUAL field name off

the subfile record that you are using for your RRN so that it's value is

set to 1, then 2, etc so that the chain works properly. Using LIKE just

defines another field that has the same attributes.
