If you have iSeries Navigator you already have a tool to analyze your SQL
statements. It's called visual explain and appears as an option when you click
on the database for an iSeries connection. It sounds like IBM is either
replacing it or enhancing it for V5R4.

Subject: SQL finally "free'd"???

Interesting paragraph in today's issue of The Four Hundred by Timothy
Prickett Morgan

IBM is working to make SQL programming a little bit easier
from inside RPG, and will also add a graphical SQL performance
monitor to help iSeries shops understand the performance
implications of their SQL queries and code--this sounds like
a great feature.

I wonder if this the "freeing of SQL in RPG-free"?

And it didn't explicitly tie this to V5R4, but the context of the article
was on i5/OS V5R4
