Is there a way to populate a variable in a CL using SQL statement? I
put together a test CL and a test file to work with.

This is what I have been playing with but it doesn't work.

         DCL        VAR(&DATA) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(50)

         DCL        VAR(&SQLTEXT) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(300

     CHGVAR     VAR(&SQLTEXT) VALUE('select cddata into ' *cat +
                  &data *cat ' from iscdet where +

                  cdcomp = 001')

  RUNSQLQM   REQUEST(&SQLText)

Thanks.
