Does it get executed multiple times? Could it run fine once and set the
value of InMsg to 'Valid Insert ' and not reset it right? Translation,
since you have no simple ELSE (like SELECT's OTHER statement) then perhaps
InMsg is retaining an old value?
C IF SQLStt = SQLDupRec
C EVAL InMsg = 'Duplicate Rec'
C ELSEIF %Subst(SQLStt:1:2) = SQLWrnPfx
C EVAL InMsg = SqlStt
C ELSEIF SQLStt = SQLOk
C EVAL InMsg = 'Valid Insert '
C ELSE
C EVAL InMsg = 'What the @#$%?'
C ENDIF

I see you're using NC. I did have an issue when I was using journalling
and did not specify a COMMIT right away. I didn't see the new rows until
I did the COMMIT. But that shouldn't apply in your case.
