I have several in the IBM manual where they modified existing formats. The little dual greater than signs off to the left are the indicator in Infocenter. If I have format OBJL0100 (now is that Object lock or object list? Stupid example of IBM reuse to thwart using the ds name as the member name in your custom version of QSYSINC) And OBJL0100 is a based data structure. Now if I, personally, would not dare to DIM OBJL0100. Let's say that I set the basing pointer on OBJL0100 correctly (initially) using the QUSPTRUS and the offset to the list data. If I take a chance and DIM that puppy, IBM will be sure to add a field to OBJL0100 and hose me for sure. Rob Berendt
