Basically you're trying to emulate via 5250 that takes one line in html, the text keyword. I would think that you would want the insert key to automatically shift the text in the following lines - providing you could convince it to stop inserting upon the first carriage return. And that's the rub. Getting DDS to respect that. Good luck. You could always go back to a lousy subfile, individual fields for each line, or some such animal to emulate this. As jumping down to the next line, terminal emulation supports a 'new line' key. Often open to custom mapping. Some map it to Shift-Enter, some to Shift-RightCtrl. Rob Berendt
