For Pete's sake - stop using RPG/400!!!!!   If some moron won't let you 
convert the RPG/400 program to RPGLE, then write a new program in RPGLE to 
do your date validation and call that from your RPG/400 program.

I thought there was an article entitled "The last date routine you'll ever 
need" for doing it in RPG/400 if you just insist on being a Luddite.
