Booth, What is the difference with the parenthesis ? Here is what I ended up using: Eval ANSWER=((FieldA-1)/FieldA) * 100 Thanks and thanks to everyone helping me muddle my way through this :-) Chuck -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Booth Martin Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2005 11:22 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Re: Dumb programming question.. Would there be an = sign in there anywhere Chuck? As an eval I might try something like this: FieldA - 1 Divided by FieldA times 100 eval answer = (FieldA - 1) / (FieldA * 100) or eval answer = ((FieldA - 1) / (FieldA)) * 100 Hope this helps? Booth
