HI I am trying to compile a program that I copies from a subfile book. It is in ILE. I copies and pasted but it is right syntax. Yet the compilation is completely errored. It must be something - Perhaps someone has a sugestion:
You're right that your code is in ILE -- and it looks correct to me -- but you've attempted to compile it with an OPM (not ILE!) compiler!
If you're trying to use PDM to compile this (i.e. "option 14") then you need to change the source type from RPG to RPGLE. "RPGLE" is ILE RPG (or, RPG IV) and "RPG" is OPM RPG (or, RPG III)
If you're compiling this from the command line, you need to use the CRTBNDRPG command. It appears that you're running the CRTRPGPGM command, and that's for RPG III!
