Lim, You could use Query to create the summary. Order by Area Code, Prefix, Suffix, Terminal. Break level 1 on Area Code, Prefix, Terminal. Min & Max on Suffix. Output to a summary file. It won't let you output to your own file format. It will create a break level indicator field in the output file which you won't want. You also get a summary record with min and max on the Suffix over the entire file. But it does give you the detail you want. Paul
