Aside from readability, it's another good reason to use the filename
parm in %eof even if it seems obvious.

My C teacher in junior college would mark us down for "excessive" use of
comments. They were acceptable only in situations where it wasn't
obvious what was going on.  His theory was that good code is self
documenting.  I wasn't sure about that then and I'm less sure of it now.
How obvious things are is in the eye of the beholder.<g>

Laplace, the 18th century mathemetician often prefixed sections of
proofs with "it's easy to see..." For him, maybe.
