Maybe he's using RPG III with an internally defined file.

Can RPG III handle an externally defined file with more than 9 decimal 
positions?

If so, can you use the LIKE opcode to define a RPG III with more than 9 decimal 
positions?

Note that the "decimal positions" column for RPG III I-specs and C-specs is 
only one digit.
