All the manual is saying is that if you have the following:

     fMyFile    if   e           k disk    extfile('REALFILE')

Then MyFile must exist at compile time, 'REALFILE' doesn't need to exist till 
the program is run.

MyFile is only needed at compile time, you could delete it once the program has 
been created and it won't hurt anything.
