IIRC, back in the bad old days there were performance implications on a CALL depending on whether I used a literal ('PGMA') or a variable name on the CALL instruction. With a literal, I seem to remember that the operating system only resolved the pointer to the program the first time, while with a variable it was resolved every time. Is this the same with the EXTPGM keyword on a prototype? That is, if I key in a literal in the EXTPGM keyword, is there a performance advantage as opposed to using a variable name? Joe
