A Question on Journal & Commitment control

Hi,

Is there any relationship between Journaling and Commit control?

i.e., To journal a physical file, does the Commitment control be ON or is there 
any other relationship.

Any of your ideas or thoughts would be greatly helpful to me, because I am new 
to Iseries
