× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Yes, but with manual opens and closes you can handle the logic from within 
the RPG program if there's a problem.
open(e) MyFile;
if %error;
  Select;
  When %status(MyFile)...
  ...
  EndSl;
EndIf;

If you care enough about your users to go to that level.
