it will run, i use it somtimes. If i use a subfile for example in this case, i open the dspf only if i am in interavtive mode. And all EXMFT, WRITE, READ of dspf formats are conditionned by the type of job. And my message routines do the same, if a m not in Interactive, i use userspace to write message. It should compile, and it should run without the requestor error? --------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.martinvt.com --------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: 06/28/05 16:21:39 To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Re: Running a program with a display file in batch Ricky - If you're using the subfile fields in the program, the answer is a qualified "no"...(that is, you could probably make the necessary program changes to allocate a display device and use it from within the batch program, but that would probably be not worth the hassle). However, as an alternative you could build a sequential workfile in qtemp that has the same fields as does the subfile. Make the necessary code changes in the program to use the workfile instead of the subfile. Then leave the display file closed, and open and use the workfile instead of the subfile in the batch program.
