You write for the rag.  What's the source of the announcement?

Maybe it would be a good thing.  Then finally the rest of the software 
vendors would convert.

I agree that they have been very foolish in not converting (not sure 
"lazy"
is the word -  dumb maybe?) but actually they have converted a few 
programs.
Some of them got so big that the RPG/400 compiler couldn't cope with them 
-
so they converted to RPG IV.
