That is so stupid.  I hate vendors like that.  I can understand the source 
being locked down but the bloody file layouts?  I mean, what harm could 
come from that?  Unless I'm being naive here however.  What would happen 
if you needed to do a conversion to a new system?  You have no idea of 
what the old system entails?  Sounds like bad business practice.  Almost 
makes you want to leave that vendor doesn't it?
