If by RPT you are referring to an RPG source type of RPT by all means RUN a 
different direction.  Our core application was originally written entirely 
using RPT programs with lots of copy books that contain both I-specs and 
C-specs.  It is a nightmare to maintain.  In addition, the cool new development 
tools (WDSc) and language enhancements don't work with RPT programs.  WDSc will 
at least edit and compile one but none of the neat features like outline view 
work.
