Alas, no x'3F' is only returned when Auto Enter occurs via the
Selector Light Pen, an optional feature on the original 5251
workstations. It is *not* returned due to keyboard activity resulting
in auto enter whether by Field Exit or filling a field which does not
require a Field Exit. Unless you have a selector light pen (or an
emulator which emulates one), you will never see x'3F'.

There is no value for the field exit key, because in the 5250
protocall, it is not a so-called AID generating key (for Attention
IDentification). The field exit, like alphameric characters, is
handled locally by the WS controller (or its equivalent for non-twinax
devices). If the display format has CHECK(ER) active, the value you
get back is still x'F1'.
