RE: Footer records in subfile display

Ahh...I'm currently working in an environment where the standard is that
no line of source can be deleted.  Moving 20 or 30 lines of code into a
subroutine or procedure leaves a lot of debris.  We're using Aldon so we
have source archives that are pretty reliable. 

OTOH, I have a job. <g>

When I can, I like to go a step beyond that. I really hate comments that
clutter code for years (decades!) after the change becomes moot. When I
can get away with it, I'll remove all such comments if I'm effectively
creating a new version of a program. The fact that a variable was
increased from 3-digits to 7-digits in 1992 has little relevance in 2005
for a lot of programs. Likewise, a comment about moving a SETON from
after an EXFMT to before the EXFMT just doesn't add to the useful sense
of the program five years later.

Code archives can always be kept as needed.
