One reply (Bruce Guetzkow) mentioned the possibility of using REXX. Is
this something that we would do by a call from RPG. I must admit I know
little about REXX.
</snip>

You can find the REXX manuals in Info Center:
        REXX/400 Reference
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/books/c4157290.pdf
        REXX/400 Programmer's Guide
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/books/c4157280.pdf

REXX can be executed using the STRREXPRC command or by calling API
QREXX.

I know that Joe Pluta recently had an article that gave a nice intro to
the REXX language. The manuals listed above are pretty well done. What
I know of REXX is primarily from those manuals.

Further discussion of REXX is probably better suited on another list
(Midrange-L? David?).

Hope this helps,
--Bruce Guetzkow

PS: For future reference, it's always a good idea to change your email
subject to match the thread of the current topic instead of simply
replying to the digest and using its general subject. Also, you'll make
more friends by only including relevant material in your reply instead
of including the entire digest.
