In Sql Server 2000, we create a group of authorities which is called 'Application Role' When user runs the application, the object authorities are temporarily granted to user until he terminates the application. I know there is similar Adopted Authority in AS/400 but its not so secure it uses the object owner rights and user can misuse this security, is there any way that user should temporarily get the objects authorities while running the application without giving him adopted authority of the object Owner, and authority should be revoked when Application ends. Best Regards, Luqman
