I have a source member that I use to try out small snippets of code like
this:

  /free

    dsply %dech(alph103:10:3);

    ts1 = *loval;
    dsply %char(ts1);
    for dsidx1 = 1 to dsIdx2;
      dsply dsidx1;
    endfor;
    return;

I never have a problem with the program stopping and displaying my output.

Thanks,

Mark

Ron,

You need to ask for a reply. Try this:

             d Result          S              8S 0
             d Reply           s              1a

      /FREE
       Result = %Int(%Char(%Date():*ISO0));
       Dsply Result '' Reply;
       *Inlr = *On;
      /END-FREE

If you display your job log you will see the value that flashed across the
screen.

HTH,

Rick

Hmm,
Wanting to test this code out, I coded this:
     d Result          S              8S 0
      /FREE
       Result = %Int(%Char(%Date():*ISO0));
       Dsply Result;
       *Inlr = *On;
      /END-FREE

but for some reason, the Dsply flashes to the screen and ends. It doesn't
wait like it normally does. Any reason for this?
