The "theory" with the api's and other black boxes is that you shouldn't have to go into the debug on them. Much like you don't debug RPG code by stepping into the MI (or whatever) to see that you passed the parameters on a chain wrong. Some people want externalized I/O as long as THEY aren't locked out so they can see how it works. Rather one of my points. In my testing I was getting some error messages that had no relation to what I was asking the function to do. Turns out, I was filling an option parameter with the incorrect value. But I could not use the debugger to find this bug because IBM does not provide the source code to it C runtime function library. -Steve -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
