Actually, Robespierre and the leaders of the Revolution did this five
years before Napolean came to power.  They were trying to remove all
vestiges of Religion from society, so they renamed all the months and
changed each month to 3 10-day weeks.  This way, no one ever knew when
it was "Sunday".
