Hi, As far as I know, and I am not an expert on the philosophy of IBM's provision of CRTBND* commands, it is for installations that are not using the full facilities of ILE etc that were implemented years ago. I would suggest that the manipulation of a program's static storage programmatically would fall into such a category.
