If you do a STRSQL and do a SELECT * FROM long_table_name and hit F4, prompting for the field names will show the short table name. Anybody knows way to copy a long named file (longer than 10) with CPYF command? I understand ISeries comes up with a 10 digit name (First five characters + 00001), but I wasn't able to figure out, how to reference that name to the actual long SQL table name. thanks in advance for any help. No system function will do exactly what you want but you can roll your own: DSPMOD will show the exports on screen or print them. QBNLMODI API will dump exports to a user space. You can then copy them to a file and query that.
