You don't have to wait that long...  The failure you're referencing will
occur on January 19 2038 at 3:14:08 GMT and is not tied just to Unix --
this failure could also impact a C application running on Windows, i5/OS,
etc.  It's really tied to 32-bit time variables representing the number of
seconds since January 1 1970.  The last value before wrapping is 3:14:07...
