No, I'm the one that missed something! I see where the error is still being trapped by the program, so indeed the program still has control. It looks like I need to dig into the maximum record wait time and find out what has changed. I thought I was completely losing my mind when the client calls to this thing started failing today, because it was working fine a few days ago and the iSeries code has not changed. Thanks for the question...it rung the right bells! Can you clarify: At the beginning you said programs does not error and continue, however, late on you said system is not allowing the program to take control. If the program continues, that means the program is taking control. Did I miss something? -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Dane Cox Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2005 11:46 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Record Locking Error messages... <clip> If the chain is coded as follows (I don't really care what the error is...just that I can't get the record for whatever reason)... C kddmast chain(e) rddmast C if %error C eval mscode = 8888 C exsr getmsgs C leave C endif I get the following errors in my job log, BUT the program does not error and continues on... Record 148 in use by job 365563/USER/QPADEV000D. ? C Record 148 in use by job 365563/USER/QPADEV000D. ?
