Hi Douglas, what are the names of your fields DUPdATEDDATE or UPDDATEDDATE / DUPDATEDTIME or UPDATEDTIME ? In your datastructure all fields are defined without leading 'D'. I need to concatenate two fields from a physical file and place it in this field. Those two fields are LSPUPDDT (date field), and LSPUPDTIM (time field). I created a data structure for this: 0041.03 D DS 0041.04 DLASTUPDATED 1 16 0041.05 DUPDATEDDATE 1 10 0041.06 DUPDATEDTIME 12 19 Then in a subroutine I moved the physcial file fields into the DUPdATEDDATE and DUPDATEDTIME portions of the Data structure. then attempted to write it out with a move statement moving the LASTUPDATED to the display field DLSPUPDATED. I am getting a compile error that is telling me the fields are not defined. there is also another error that is telling me that the types are not compatible..... Any help would be appreciated....I'm at a loss on how to correct this. -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
