Hi, *DATE or UDATE is not the system, but the job date. To get the system date you either have to use opcode TIME or the built-in-function %Date. C eval MyDate = %Date(); If you want to use *Date in a eval statement, you have to put the built-in-function %Date() around. D myDate s D datfmt(*usa) *--------------------------------------------- C eval mydate = %Date(*date) You also can initialize the date field directely in the D-Specs. But be aware that the initialization only takes place at the first call, like an initialization in the *INZSR routine. This can be a problem if your program ends with RETURN and is repeatedly called. D myDate S D DatFmt(*USA) inz(*SYS) If you use *JOB instead of *SYS your date field is initialized with the Job-Date.
