That "evil" adjective puts a bit of an edge on the comment.

In his defense, I think Dave has always shown pretty good judgment in where to draw the line, and keeping to topic is actually a service to us, and even if the lines are fudgy sometimes, he deserves a bit of "slack". An overbearing moderator would not have cultivated this list to its present impact anyway.
