Many times this is because you have tried to pass a variable which is
not null (x'00') terminated.  I don't have the code in front of me,
but you may want to %trim() it and then add a x'00' to the end.  A
related problem is when you call the program from a command line, and
the variable holding the file name is longer than 32 bytes.  If this
is the case, see the FAQ at http://faq.midrange.com  Search for
'garbage.'  An immediate fix is to pad the call with blanks like

call pgm '/home/buck
'

Use as many blanks as the definition of the variable holding the file
name.
