I last used JDE 2½ to 3 years ago, and I could have sworn the JDE date was
5.0 packed and didn't carry a century digit - the century flag being
separate.  To convert from JDE to "normal" date's you chained to a date file
which I think was called F00365.

It could depend on the version of JDE you are working with.  We use JDE XE
and it is definitely 6 long.
