RE: New RPG programmers

Misinformed.
Contact your rep about ordering the cd's for the wdsc 5.1.2.  The client 
version is free, the advanced version costs money.  The client version is 
quite enuff too.  I"ll never go back to SEU.

You mean if you have an AS400/iSeries/..., then you automatically have 
access to CODE and WDSC, at no additional charge?

I have tried to convince upper management at my company to give us either 
CODE or WDSC, instead of SEU, but they said it would cost money. Are they 
right or just misinformed?

I think Jon's point is that if you are developing for the iSeries, you
have access to the tools.  The WDS licensed program includes unlimited
licenses to WDSC, so if you are working on an iSeries, you should be
able to ask the owner nicely for a copy of WDSC.

OTOH, I see the point that if you DON'T have an iSeries, WDSC is not
cheap.  So for someone who isn't already on the iSeries, there really
isn't an "entry level" RPG.
