Don't try to use a AS/400 B10 as your web server. In that same vein... Don't try to run WDSC on any PC running less than 3/4 to 1GB of memory. Although I run it on my home PC with 512MB and it's "ok". Don't exit WDSC after editing each program. I don't exit my 5250 sessions after each command either. In fact I leave everything running all week and just reboot on Friday afternoon. I exit each member from WDSC, but leave WDSC up, at night so as not to conflict with backups. I sign off 5250 sessions, but leave the sessions up also. Never been able to start WDSC, go fetch a cup of coffee and not have WDSC fully up upon my return. Security a concern? Then when you leave the desk use Alt-Ctrl-Del and select Lock Computer. Filters are cool, use them. But for quick WRKMBRPDM like look ups, use the iSeries Table view. You'll see that as a tab in the lower right of the RSE perspective. Once in there, click on the drop down arrow in the top right of that window. Had a VP that once wanted a ToDo list package that would work on an old dual diskette computer. Denigrated the developer assigned to the task when it was suggested that he try something with a little more beef. That VP's no longer here. However there was a recent thread on this list talking about pre-compiling source members and Denis Robitaille kindly allowed his pre-compiler to be posted for everyone's use. The save file is available for download from Leif Guldbrand's site (www.think400.com) and will allow you to specify the compiler options you want to use as comments within the source member. Hope it helps. best regards Jonathan www.astradyne-uk.com -----Original message----- From: "Beeson, Terry" Terry.Beeson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tue, 9 Nov 2004 11:01:10 +0000 To: "RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries" rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: H Spec DBGView > Hi All > > Is there an H Spec to specify the Debug View? If they have a problem that they think the AS400 or RPG can't solve, I'll quietly work on a solution. No-one at my company knew we can host web pages for example (CGI rocks!!).
