There are numerous standards for checking regular expressions in Java.

Is there a way to access/verify fields against regular expressions in RPG?
Has anyone done this before, using regular expressions??

(It doesn't HAVE to be linked to Java, if there are other alternatives)

For instance, I may want to verify a website syntax, or a credit card
syntax, etc.

 DBweb   = "www.ibm.com"

 RegExpr = "www\\.(.+)\\.(.+)";

If RegularExpressionMatch(DBweb: RegExpr) = TRUE;

    THEN // stuff;

    ELSE // otherstuff;

Or email address:

DBemail = "administrator@xxxxxxxxx";
RegExpr = (".+@.+\\.[a-z]+");

If RegularExpressionMatch(DBemail: RegExpr) = TRUE;

    THEN // send email using specified/valid syntax of email address;

    ELSE // send mail using alternate email address;

I think there are some methods (java.util.regex.Pattern,
java.util.regex.Matcher, etc)  or something else?

Thanks in advance.
