To change or not to change (or how to)

Is it possible to change the text in a column heading in a print file (PRTF)
or the text description in display file (DSPF) without source and without
creating a level check?

Yeah, I know this is weird but we have some PRTF and DSPF objects that we
need to change the text on but we don't have source code. This would be a
"hack" but I wonder if such a thing is possible.
