You might try loading up a 5 element array with these characters and doing a 1 do elem(array) and then %scanning that. I want to test for the existence of one of several characters in a string. %check lets you check for the first character that is NOT found in the "comparator". %scan only lets you specify one search argument. I need to test a string to see if it has any occurrences of any of the characters &, %, *, _, or ? There *is* an easy way to do this in RPG, is there not?
