That is just strange.  how did you get the Line# value (from debugger, DSPLY, 
...)?  How can a decimal(3,0) show up as a char with a length of 5.

Thanks for the reply, but no luck.  I changed my LINE# var to 30 but
the value returned is still '    3'.  Any other ideas?
