In my brief expirience with doing this, once you know how to setup a program to call a java method, it isn't too hard to do. In a batch program, I don't think you will notice any slowdown for when the JVM is starting. Sure it takes a bit longer, but who will notice? I am sure there are some good examples, I got my example from someone on the list. I was working on getting a brief tutorial together, but haven't gotten that far yet. If you want an example, email me offline and I can send you a couple live subprocedures we are using.
