But in my setup the unconditioned part is used in the service program
SRVPGM.  And the BNDDIR contains the service program SRVPGM.  Wouldn't that
bite me in the end?

You should probably also move the BNDDIR keyword into the unconditioned
part.  Otherwise, if it gets compiled as a module, the CRT would fail
because of the missing bnddir.
