Jeffrey It appears that you may be confusing a query with a file. wrkqry creates/edits a *QRYDFN object, which is used to view, print, extract data from physical files. If it's telling you that the query doesn't exist, change your 2 to a 1 to create it. then follow the prompts (the first one especially) to tell the query which file you are trying to list and how you want it displayed. FYI, you don't have to build a query just display the data - run the following command: runqry *n mylibrary/myfilename there are other parameters in the runqry command to do field selection, change the output form, etc. good luck Rick ----------original message------------- Well I just enter WRKQRY and fill out the fields. >From there I type 2 for edit OEPEHDA for the query and MODSMR for the library.
