I am a little confused by the wording of your question. But I assume you are just not seeing the directories that were created without the / This is probably because it puts them under your home directory (the / says start from root), so it is not that you cannot see them you just have not expanded your home directory.

And yes you can create shares from green screen

When creating a directory on a client's iSeries I made the mistake of keying
the command like: CRTDIR DIR('mydir') instead of CRTDIR DIR('/mydir'), ( no
preceding slash mark). After I did this I lost the ability to see my
directories using iSeries Navigator. If I create a new directory I can see it,
but not any directories that I created before my fingers betrayed me. I can
still see the directories in Windows Explorer where I had mapped network drives
and I can see them using WRKLNK, but as far as I can tell the only way to
create a share on the directory is using Navigator.

Any ideas on how I can get them to show up in Navigator again? Is there a
green-screen command to create a share?
