I publish a routine from the RPG XTools (formerly RPG ToolKit) in my free
newsletter.
Go to www.mcpressonline.com/midrangedev and then scan the page for "Clean
Num" and it should position you to the article and the source code. If you
already have the xTools you can just call it like this:
 eval  phnnbr = CleanNum(PhoneNum)
