Hello Vengoal, I've just been developing an experience of using Java classes/methods in ILE RPG; to be honest not undestanding very much Your questions. I think RPG initiates JVM in Your job when performing first call of a java-method in Your code (if You haven't started JVM on your own using JNI). As to making a jar/class a service program (*SRVPGM object)... do You want to wrap a jar into a *SRVPGM? I can fancy having an RPGLE service program that contains specs of classes (O data type), prototypes of java methods and procedures themselves that work with instances of classes and call the methods - all related to a given jar. But such service program would be more of an RPG interface to jar... I don't know if ILE and Java allow more... Hi, How to make some Java classes or jar as a service program ? The RPGLE Program declare some O type java calss for use will start JVM. If we call the service program which made by java program, will OS start the JVM or not ? Does calling java service program performace is better than direcly used Object in RPGLE program ?
