Hawkeye's Pathfinder does this.

Addressing the need, perhaps you can change the interface in such a way as
not to disrupt existing callers?  If you add the new parms at the end with
OPTIONS(*OMIT), the proc can test for the existence of that parm and supply
a default when not supplied.  Just a thought.
