Activation groups don't really bear on this issue. If you follow Barbara's post a little closer, you can see that it's a call stack issue. Procedures and the ILE PEP add a level to the stack. To see this, do as Barbara did. Put your program in debug and stop just before sending the message. Do a DSPJOB and look at the call stack. Count the levels between the procedure which will send the message and the procedure/program which will receive it. That should give you a jump start... --buck
